With the Standard Package, your doctor consults with you first to understand your symptoms, history, goals, and clinical needs.
To access Medicare-rebated pathology needs to be clinically justified and requested by a doctor after assessing the patient. It cannot simply be ordered as a large general panel without proper clinical context or a prior consultation.
During your initial consultation, your doctor may request targeted pathology where clinically appropriate.Blood tests need to be completed before your follow-up appointment.
At your follow-up, your doctor will review your results, explain what they mean, and discuss your personalised plan.Additional or non-standard testing may incur costs, which your doctor will discuss with you.

Once your results are available, your doctor will review them with you in a follow-up appointment and discuss a plan tailored to your intake, consultation, and pathology results.
Your plan may include lifestyle recommendations, dietary guidance, monitoring, and treatment options where clinically appropriate.
Treatment is only recommended where your doctor determines it is clinically appropriate for you.
Your doctor will discuss the potential benefits, risks, suitability, and monitoring requirements of any treatment options before you decide whether to proceed.If medicine is prescribed and you choose to proceed, it will be compounded in Australia and shipped directly to your door. Additional medicine costs apply.
Your doctor may also provide a future pathology referral for monitoring. This allows you to complete your bloods before your next review or medication renewal appointment, so your doctor can assess your progress, review safety markers, and make any adjustments with current information.

Private-pay pathology is not Medicare-rebated. However, where clinically appropriate, your doctor may provide a future pathology referral for monitoring before your next review appointment. Medicare rebates on future pathology may be available.
